Shaun successfully completed his Paramedic training in 2013 (Foundation Science in Paramedic Emergency Care), at Oxford Brookes University. He continued in higher education, whilst working for South Central Ambulance Service (primarily in the Oxfordshire area) as an emergency responder. Additionally, Shaun started his post-graduate degree in 2021 (University of West London). Shaun completed two modules in Advanced Practice for Minor Injuries & Minor illnesses (also completing these in 2022). completed his degree in Clinical Practice in 2022 (University of Southampton).

Furthermore, Shaun will be starting his master’s level qualification in Advanced Clinical Practice in September 2024, this will enable him to practice as a ‘Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP)’.

Over the years, Shaun has seen how much of the healthcare industry is centred on urgent care, which sparked him down the career path of a ‘Paramedic Specialist Practitioner’, so that he could be better equipped to treat people with urgent medical problems. From the modules of this course, he can perform a wide range of examinations, catheterise, wound care and interpret X-rays.

Shaun made the move to work in Primary Care (during 2023). The career change enabled him to utilise his advanced training more effectively. However, he hasn’t hung up his ambulance uniform just yet, he will still be carrying out the occasional shift on emergency response (around Oxfordshire), when time allows!
During his free time, he enjoys quality time with his family and can often be found rock climbing!
